Curious Minds, Bold Moves & Shared Exploration
We open a limited number of connected living periods each year at our homebase in the heart of Provence. Nestled beneath the villages of Provence, we invite you to join us for a curated experience that blends restoration, meaningful connection, and the exploration of life in transition.
Life at La Joie Homebase is designed to give a realistic sense of living locally in Provence. Residents share a real home, participate in everyday routines, and spend time in the surrounding area — from village life and markets to informal outings and meals. It’s an opportunity to understand how community, place, and daily living intersect, without the pressure of committing to a longer-term move.
With a small group of residents at any one time, daily life at La Joie Homebase includes shared responsibility and shared moments. Dinner is one of those moments — prepared and offered together, and enjoyed without phones at the table. It’s a simple, friendly way of creating connection in everyday life, before the evening unfolds in its own rhythm.
Living Locally, Together
Women come to La Joie Homebase for many reasons. Some women are actively exploring future possibilities, others are taking a pause from work, while some are interested in relocating, and some are simply curious about how shared living in a different place might feel.
What connects them is a desire to experience everyday life somewhere else — not as a visitor, and not alone.
At La Joie Homebase in Provence, daily life is lived in a real home, shared with a small group of other women. Days unfold through ordinary routines: meals, conversation, time at home, and time out in the surrounding area. This allows space to observe how living locally actually works — the pace, the social rhythm, the practicalities, and the feeling of being part of a place rather than passing through it.
Time is spent exploring nearby villages, markets, and a larger Provençal town known for its antiques, independent shops, and crafts. Because La Joie Homebase is embedded in the local area rather than operating as an expat enclave, residents also take part in village events and are occasionally welcomed into private, family-run farms and estates. These are working places — vineyards, olive groves, and small producers — offering a realistic glimpse into local life and economy.
Some women use this time to test what shared and international living feels like before making bigger decisions. Others simply enjoy living with others for a while, without having to organise, host, or manage everything themselves. There is no expectation to arrive with a plan or a goal. The value lies in experiencing daily life as it is — together, locally, and without pressure.
Seasonal differences are part of that understanding. April brings light, warmth, and blooming landscapes; October reflects harvest rhythms and cooler evenings. These shifts shape daily life and offer insight into how the same place feels at different times of year — practically, socially, and physically.

Caring for Energy, Strength, and Joy
At La Joie, we’re open to many ways of supporting energy, balance, and enjoyment of life in this season. Women arrive with different backgrounds and beliefs, and we don’t privilege one approach over another. Across each Taste of Connected Living, we may draw from a range of practices — including meditation, body balance, yoga, equine-based work, and energy healing — alongside nourishing food, light movement, and time outdoors. These elements are offered as invitations rather than requirements, reflecting our belief that feeling well and alive can take many forms, and that curiosity often matters more than method.
Provence — La Joie Life Energy
During some Tastes of Connected Living, we place a particular focus on La Joie Life Energy — how women support energy, balance, and enjoyment of life in this season. This is explored through everyday living, shared meals, light movement, rest, and moments of simple presence together.
In April and October we also include clear, accessible insight — with input from a licensed medical doctor — into what happens in a woman’s body during midlife and beyond. This perspective helps make sense of how energy shifts, how the body reorganises, and how nourishment, movement, rest, and joy support long-term wellbeing, without prescribing a single way of doing things.
La Joie's Rhythm
Each week, we run full-day and half-day excursions to nearby villages and well-known towns like Aix-en-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
There’s no fixed program and no checklist tourism. We adapt the day as it unfolds — strolling old streets, stopping for long lunches when it feels right, browsing local boutiques, cafés, and small places we discover along the way.
Some days focus more on history and local stories. Others are simply about good food, atmosphere, and enjoying Provence at a relaxed pace.
This is not about seeing everything. It’s about experiencing the region naturally, without rushing.

"The sense of connection I felt here was unmatched—thank you for creating such a unique and welcoming environment."
"Every detail was so thoughtfully planned, from the food to the excursions. This experience exceeded all my expectations."
"I applaud you for your efforts to make this experience so special and safe. It truly felt like a home away from home."
