    La Joie Homebase is a cozy-luxury co-living concept designed exclusively for women who seek community, connection, and a fresh start in life. We offer curated, home-away-from-home experiences in beautiful European locations, focusing on co-living, empowerment, and joy.
  • What does it do?
    La Joie Homebase provides short-term community living experiences for women who are looking for a life-changing opportunity, exploring relocation, or simply desiring meaningful connections. We combine community, Mediterranean-inspired living, and a flexible lifestyle model to empower women to thrive.
  • Why is it led as a registered company?
    As a registered company, La Joie Homebase ensures professional, reliable operations, scalability, and accountability. Our model also supports future investments and partnerships, allowing us to expand our offerings. La Joie Homebase Ltd has its Headquarters in London, UK, and its business ID is 15725128.
  • Who owns it?
    La Joie Homebase is owned by Annamari Lammassaari (65) and Hanne Nuutinen (46), two seasoned international businesswomen with extensive backgrounds in international business and women empowerment. Together, they bring years of experience as corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and board members. We also have investors onboard.
  • What made the founders start this project?
    The founders were inspired by their own experiences of international relocation, and the realization that women of their age are often underserved and unseen. They created La Joie Homebase in order to create impact and offer Female Solo Agers meaningful and modern co-living options.
  • What is the vision?
    Our vision is to redefine modern living for mature women by fostering community, personal empowerment, and an inspiring lifestyle in beautiful, enriching environments around the world, starting with Mediterranean locations in Provence and Tuscany.
  • Will there be someone to help me with the local language?
    If you're worried about speaking the local language, rest assured – a team member proficient in the local language is always available to assist you.
  • What is La Joie’s Mission?
    To create spaces where women can live, connect, and grow in a supportive, inspiring community.
  • What is its Slogan?

  • What are the brand values?
    Carefree, engaging, and uplifting.
  • What does Carefree mean?
    Carefree means that we take care of our residents from arrival to departure, ensuring their safety, transportation, health, comfort, privacy, and meals. Many meals are prepared by a private chef, allowing residents to relax and focus on enjoying their time with us.
  • What does Engaging mean?
    Engaging means creating meaningful connections, fostering curiosity, and encouraging interactions among residents and the local community. All residents sign on to give back to local communities, whether through cultural, social, economic, environmental, or animal welfare initiatives. This makes La Joie Homebase a truly unique and impactful experience.
  • What does Uplifting mean?
    Uplifting reflects our commitment to inspiring joy, optimism, and confidence in every woman who joins us. It also means supporting one another by offering encouragement and motivation to turn opportunities into reality.
  • What does co-living among women mean?
    It means sharing a residential space and experiences with like-minded women, fostering meaningful connections, and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels at home. Co-living means living together under the same roof while also having your own private room and space.
  • How would you describe the atmosphere at La Joie Homebase?
    The atmosphere we create is one that is open to learning and engagement, fostering a peaceful, tranquil environment where inspiration flows freely. It's a space where curiosity is welcomed, connections are made, and personal growth is encouraged.
  • What does short-term mean?
    We currently offer short-term stays from one week to two weeks which are called Pop-Ups, as well as longer stays lasting from one month to a few months.
  • Can I stay long-term?
    We will add a longer-term opportunity in the future. Longer term, in our case, means living multiple months in our locations. Also, in the coming years we might offer permanent co-living.
  • What is included in the price?
    Our La Joie Homebase experiences include residences in exclusive / prestige private properties, private chauffeur, private chef on three evenings per week, excursions, engagements with local society, help in daily matters, house maintenance and cleaning, and other thoughtful inclusions, as well as a dedicated Community Manager who will help you both prior to your arrival and during your Homebase experience. The Community Manager can also help you reserve your next experience in any of our other locations.
  • Will I have my own bedroom with a private bathroom?
    In most cases, yes. However, some of our villas feature shared bathrooms – let’s discuss your preferences to ensure the perfect fit!
  • What does Pop-Up mean?
    Pop-Up experiences are shorter stays designed to give women a taste of La Joie Homebase in a condensed format. The Pop-Ups are from one week to two week-long La Joie Homebase experiences.
  • What does a La Joie full experience mean?
    It’s a 25-day stay, offering a deep dive into the La Joie lifestyle, including community living, excursions, and the comforts of home with some extra amenities to give you the full, co-living experience.
  • How far is the closest train station?
    Typically within 15-30 minutes by car, depending on the location.
  • How far is the closest international airport?
    Usually within 1-2 hours by car.
  • Where do I need my own money?
    As it is a home-away-from-home, we take you to nearby grocery stores and pharmacies to shop for what you need, such as snacks and your preferred foods for lunch and dinner for the times when we do not have our private chef coming to cook for us. Some of our excursions will include a meal; some won’t. Details will be shared with you beforehand. Meals can also be bought and cooked together with other residents at the location which is one of the charming and most enjoyable parts of co-living. There will be local restaurants nearby for the times you would like to eat out. Each Homebase location has a community fridge where your common items such as milk, butter, eggs, etc. can be stored. We cover basics like sugar, tea and coffee for you.
  • What do I have to do to be qualified as a resident?
    We welcome women aged 50+ who are seeking meaningful community and a fresh perspective on life. No special qualifications are required, just an open mind and a desire for connection.
  • How do I get in?

We also have an online meetup every Monday at 5pm CET (Paris time), called La Joie Collection Lounge where we give you more insights of our experiences. it's also a place for you to meet us, get to know us and ask questions.   • Is it only for women?
    Yes, La Joie Homebase is a women-centered space designed to support and empower mature women. Hence we only accept women as residents in our Homebases.
  • Can I bring my wife or companion?
    Yes, we welcome female couples and female friends to join you upon our application process. Friends and men are allowed to visit but not to stay.
  • Can I bring my house pet?
    We're open to this idea – please reach out to us to explore the possibilities.
  • It seems that the idea has changed/developed a lot, why?
    Our concept has evolved based on the needs and feedback of our community. As pioneers in women’s co-living, we continuously refine our offerings to create the best possible experience.
