You can choose from a range of Connected Living™ periods in Spain, allowing you to experience everyday life at a gentler pace while becoming part of a small international community.
Our Spanish Homebases offer two different expressions of Connected Living™. In Andalucía, you experience our Countryside Connection, surrounded by nature, local traditions and the slower rhythm of rural life. In Catalonia, our City Connection combines the comfort of a peaceful home with easy access to culture, creativity and the everyday life of one of Spain's most vibrant regions.
Living Locally, Together
Women come to a La Joie Homebase for all sorts of reasons. Some are seriously considering a move to Spain one day. Others are taking a thoughtful pause from their usual rhythm. Some simply want to feel what it’s like to live in Spain for a stretch of time, and others are curious about sharing a home with a small group of like-minded women.
What brings everyone together is the same quiet wish: to experience real daily life in another place — not as a passing visitor, but gently woven into the local rhythm.

There’s abundance everywhere — birdsong, lemon and avocado trees, artfully placed terracotta pots, and evenings spent chatting with new friends beside a roaring fire. Walk through the terraced hills, visit the white villages of the Alpujarra, meet local producers, or simply enjoy the quiet rhythm of the valley beneath the Sierra Nevada.
It is a place for women who long to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the richness of everyday life rather than rush from one attraction to the next. No-phone-zone meals, meaningful conversations, and the gentle rhythm of the seasons create a deeply nourishing way of living together.

Set just a few kilometres from a charming Sant Pere de Ribes and within easy reach of Barcelona, this Homebase offers the best of both worlds. Spend your days exploring cafés, markets, museums, coastal towns, or the vibrant cultural life of the region, then return to the calm of a real home shared with a small circle of women.
Designed for curious women who enjoy culture, creativity, and the energy of city life—but equally value peaceful surroundings, genuine conversation, and the comfort of belonging. Here, Connected Living™ means experiencing Catalonia from the inside, with the freedom to shape each day as you choose.

La Joie Homebases
Each homebase carries its own inspiring spirit and warm, welcoming soul.
These are fully privatized homes, thoughtfully chosen and prepared for our small groups. Some are countryside houses, others town villas, spacious apartments, or homes by the sea — always chosen to suit the rhythm of the season and location.
You’ll find quiet corners for your private moments and cosy shared spaces for connection. Each homebase becomes your home for that period — shared with a small group of like-hearted women in the La Joie way.
Getting Around
Every Homebase has a shared Access Day on Sundays. Most residents arrive by air or train and choose the organised La Joie airport transfer from the nearest international airport or major train station. Others prefer to arrive independently by car.
Once you have arrived, the practical side of everyday life becomes easy. Market visits, shared outings and other local transportation are thoughtfully organised as part of the Connected Living™ experience, allowing you to settle naturally into your new surroundings.
As La Joie expands its longer Connected Living™ experiences across Europe, selected Seasonal Living™ Homebases will also offer access to a community car.
Our role is to make everyday living simple, so you can spend less time organising and more time enjoying life at your Homebase.
Combining Places, Communities and Seasons
Some women choose a Homebase simply because they want to experience another way of living for a couple of weeks. Others are exploring a future relocation or planning to spend several months in Europe. There is no expectation to arrive with a plan. Connected Living™ gives you the time and space to discover what feels right.
Many residents choose to continue their European stay by moving from one La Joie Homebase to another. They may begin in Provence, continue in Tuscany, and later spend time in Scotland—all within La Joie communities. Rather than starting over each time, they become part of a growing network of homes connected by the same philosophy of living.
Every Homebase has its own culture, landscape and everyday rhythm. A Provençal village feels different from the Tuscan hills, just as Scotland offers a completely different way of life. Yet something important remains constant: the warm welcome, the shared table, the rhythm of Connected Living™, and the opportunity to become part of a genuine community.
